Retail trading hours have been extended for the WA's next two public holidays, with the State Government approving the extension for general retail stores in the Perth metropolitan area.

Stores will be allowed to open from 8am to 6pm on WA Day next Monday, as well as the Queen's Birthday on Monday September 28.

Retailers holding small shop certificates can open 24 hours.

The extended opening hours will replace the usual trading hours for these public holidays - which are 11am to 5pm.

The Retail Trading Hours Act enables the Minister for Commerce to vary public holiday trading hours in Perth, other than on Christmas Day, Good Friday and ANZAC Day when general retail shops must remain closed.
