The local business community filled the Albany Business Centre last week for one of the Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s monthly social sundowners.

About 75 people flocked to the venue on Chester Pass Road on April 22 for an evening of connection, an opportunity for Albany’s hardworking business people to catch up with friends and learn about new opportunities and events in the community.

Let Them Cook provided the food for the evening, keeping guests well fed as they chatted with colleagues and friends.

Business centre chief executive Mark Shenton addressed the gathered crowd, giving an oversight into how the business centre served Albany locals and events it runs throughout the year, including free one-on-one business advice, workshops, and the WA Small Business Expo.

Druella McTavish spoke on behalf of the ACCI, addressing what the chamber is doing to advocate for and support local businesses through the ATCO mains gas decommissioning, the fuel crisis and how it is affecting Albany.

Ms McTavish took the opportunity to introduce the chamber’s next big event: LEAD, a growth and wellness forum for women in business.

The LEAD forum will be held at the Albany Surf Life Saving Club on Middleton Beach on May 13.
