The count down to Albany’s Agricultural Show is on, with the launch of the Horticulture Show schedule and opening of entries for one of the show’s most colourful attractions.
The horticultural show will be held on November 13 and 14, with the theme of “Grow It. Nurture It. Show It”.
It celebrates the passion and creativity of the local gardening community and encourages people of all ages to share the results of their hard work.
Over the past couple of months the horticulture committee has been busy behind the scenes preparing this year’s schedule, ensuring there are different exhibit classes to suit everyone.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or a first-time exhibitor, growing roses, natives, orchids, pot plants, vegetable, fruit or floral arrangements, there will be a class for everyone.
People visiting this year’s horticultural pavilion can also look forward to magnificent displays presented by some of the region’s most passionate horticultural groups.
The Albany Floral Art Group, Heritage Roses Australia, Wildflower Society of WA, Albany Orchid Society, Begonia Society and Bromeliad Display will all showcase their expertise, adding colour and inspiration throughout the pavilion.
One of the highlights of this year’s show is the children’s section, where entry is free for exhibitors up to 16 years old.
Young gardeners are encouraged to get creative with miniature gardens, decorated pots, flower arrangements, succulents and cacti, and fun fruit and vegetable collections.
This section is a great opportunity to inspire the next generation of gardeners while giving them a chance to display something they have grown or created themselves.
The horticultural committee encourages everyone to start planning, planting and nurturing and getting their entries locked in for the show.
