SWFL women’s: Harvey Bulls close out dominant regular season with 27-point victory over Dunsborough

The Harvey Bulls women’s side closed out their dominant regular season with a 27-point victory over Dunsborough at Harvey Oval on Sunday. The Bulls were already assured of a top-of-the-table finish but won their 15th game from 16 outings this season with a 4.6 (30) to 0.3 (3) victory over the fifth-placed Sharks. Another strong performance saw one goal kicked in each quarter, with Caitlin Shales leading the way with two majors and Tajah Griffiths and Megan Minton chipping in one apiece. Finishing in first spot grants the Bulls a bye in the first round of the finals, meaning they will not be in action when the rest of the competition converges on Kelly Park on Friday night. Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault closed out their season at Brunswick Oval on Saturday with a 63-point win over Eaton. The Lions held an opponent scoreless for the third time this season in the 9.9 (63) to 0.0 (0) victory over the Boomers. Captain Lauren Patane and Giaan Evans both slotted two goals apiece in the big win, while WAFLW representatives Lauren Quaife and Arnya Pickston produced the latest in a series of strong showings since returning to the local level. Neither side will feature in the finals, with the six-win Lions finishing seventh and the two-victory Boomers ending up in 10th.
