A toddler is in a critical condition with burns to her face, head and chest after a house fire involving seven children and their parents in regional Queensland.

Emergency services arrived at the home in Hervey Bay about 9pm on Saturday to find nine people at the scene.

"One child was critical with airway burns and also burns to approximately 30 per cent of their body including face, neck and arms," operations supervisor Logan McIntosh said.

A woman in her 30s suffered burns to her arms and is in a stable condition, and the other six children are also considered stable.

They were all taken to Hervey Bay Hospital.

The man was assessed for smoke inhalation and declined transport to hospital.

It is currently "house fire season" in Queensland, making it important for families to have an escape plan in place, Mr McIntosh said.

"It's really important that we ensure that our children are aware of that," he said.
