Dunsborough police arrest man after allegations from public of drug dealing

Dunsborough police have thanked members of the public for keeping a sharp eye after reports of suspicious behaviour led to a drug bust. Police received complaints and information regarding allegations of drug dealing within the area. In response on Monday, September 2 officers executed a search warrant at a unit within a caravan park in Marybrook. A 27-year-old-man was arrested at the location and numerous items were allegedly seized. Police said after further enquires, the man was charged with drug-related offences on September 9. They include six counts of offering to sell a prohibited drug, four charges of possessing a prohibited drug, and one count each of unlawfully supplying a prohibited drug, attempting to posses drugs and possessing drug paraphernalia. The man was subsequently given bail to attend Busselton Magistrates Court at a later date. Dunsborough police officer-in-charge Sgt Jon Adams thanked the public for keeping police informed of suspicious behaviour. “We take all reports made to ourselves or Crime Stoppers incredibly seriously and it really helps to build a picture of what is happening in the area, leading to arrests such as these,” he said. “The team work hard to target drug dealers as it is so often linked in with other crime, such as theft and burglary. “I would like to thank the public for all they do to keep their communities safe and encourage them to keep reporting suspicious occurrences.”
