Police are investigating after some lingerie was stolen from an adult store by someone “clearly larger” than the underwear size in question.

The man struck a Northbridge shop on James Street about 6.30pm yesterday, allegedly stuffing some lingerie down his trousers before making his way to the exit.

When he was a mere centimetres from freedom, the security tag still attached to the knickers triggered an alarm — and attracted the attention of a staff member.

Police say the man pushed the staff member who had come to investigate into a wall and walked out of the store.

While there is no description of the man at this stage, a police spokesperson told The West Australian he was “clearly larger” than the underwear he’d stolen.

The staff member was not hurt in the incident.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
