Police are searching for the driver of a ute following a terrifying hit and run crash at a northern suburbs shopping centre over the weekend that saw a woman pinned between two vehicles.

A 32-year-old woman was loading shopping into the boot of her vehicle outside Currambine Central Shopping Centre on Saturday about 12.45pm when she was struck by a blue Holden Commodore ute, causing her to become temporarily trapped between the two vehicles.

The driver of the ute drove off, failing to stop and check on the victim’s welfare or exchange personal details.

It is believed another person at the scene attempted to stop the driver of the ute before it fled.

The woman received minor injuries.
