Innaloo house fire: Man treated for smoke inhalation after blaze

A man has been treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Innaloo overnight that police have deemed suspicious. The blaze was first reported about 3am on Friday night, when the fire started at a unit complex on Morris Road. A St John WA spokesperson said paramedics were called to the scene at 3:10am and transported a man in his 60s to Joondalup Health Campus at normal road speeds. He was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and is said to have suffered a non-life-threatening injury. A DFES spokesperson said crews from Osborne Park, Daglish and Stirling fire stations attended and everyone inside the complex managed to escape, with residents evacuated and accounted for by 3:15am. The fire was extinguished shortly after 3:30am. The blaze is seen to have damaged the roof of the home however the extent is unknown, with the Arson squad expected to attend the scene Saturday morning.
