A 61-year-old man is dead after his four-wheel-drive veered off the road and hit a tree near Narrogin early yesterday.

Police say the crash happened about 6.10am when his Holden Rodeo was travelling west on Williams-Kondinin Road about 16km from Narrogin.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.

Major crash officers are investigating.
