Two year old Albert and his family were lodging at the Stay Margaret River Motel on Wallcliffe Road, when they noticed him missing about 4:30am this morning.

A police search is underway and is set to ramp up in resources this morning.

Police are concerned for the boy’s safety given his young age and the stormy conditions in the area last night.

The Bureau of Meteorology reported a heavy downpour of about 25mm of rain overnight, with strong gusts of wind.

Weather conditions are expected to ease later today.

Many locals have joined the desperate search for the little boy including a concerned next door neighbour.
