Arson squad sent to scene after person dies in Port Denison house fire

A person has died in a house fire in the State’s Mid West on Friday, with arson squad investigators sent to the scene. Emergency services were called to the house fire on Ocean Drive in Port Denison about 10.45am on Friday. Department of Fire and Emergency Services crews extinguished the blaze, but not before it had caused “extensive damage” to the property. A WA Police spokesperson said a person was located dead inside the home. “The person is yet to be formally identified,” they said. Arson squad investigators have been sent to Port Denison to conduct a fire scene examination. “At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown,” the police spokesperson said.
