Broomehill bushfire: Blaze which sparked leave now warning downgraded to reduced threat, now under control

A bushfire in Broomehill, which sparked an evacuation warning at 2.17pm on Tuesday, has been downgraded to a reduced threat as firefighters manage to contain and control the blaze.

The latest warning advising of the reduced threat, issued at 2.58pm, was for Broomehill Village, Broomehill East and Broomehill West in the Shire of Broomehill-Tambellup.

The alert call, from the Department Fire and Emergency Services, said the fire had been contained and controlled, however motorists have been asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully.

There is no threat to lives or homes.

Firefighters are on the scene patrolling and mopping up the area and the Shire of Broomehill-Tambellup is managing the fire.

The incident was reported at 1.56pm near Spencer Road in Broomehill Village.
