IN PICTURES: Inaugural Pingelly Auskick Carnival comes to town

Pingelly’s first-ever Auskick Carnival offered a new opportunity for regional players across eight Auskick centres to have fun and hone their skills. The 114 players gathered at Pingelly Recreational and Cultural Centre on Saturday from Narrogin, Wagin, Boddington, Corrigin, and Beverly where the 10 teams participated in some light-hearted gameplay. Hot drinks paired with egg and bacon rolls were served to warm the attendees on the cold morning. Pingelly, who was undefeated, won the title of 2024 Pingelly Transport Auskick Carnival Champions against runners-up Corrigin, with the final score 92-14. Narrogin won third place by beating Boddington 83-14, and all six Little Tacker teams received a participation medal. The top votes for best and fairest were awarded to Logan Macnamara from Pingelly, Oscar MacGregor from Corrigin, Liam Denvantier from Boddington, and Leonardo Italiano from Narrogin. Future players were announced for Clancy Quartermaine from Narrogin, Taj Poultney (Corrigin), Max Moulton (Pingelly), and Jayce Shepherdson (Boddington). The event organiser said the carnival had been a long time coming and they hope to expand next year as other areas have shown interest.
