Academy students dance across the USA
Dancing their way throughout America, eight students from Bianca Panetta’s Academy of Dance recently returned home from their USA tour, bringing back plenty of great memories.
After months of preparation and lots of hours flying, the group of students touched down in New York City where they commenced their dance tour with American tour company A Dancer’s Dream.
The girls spent three weeks rehearsing, exploring and learning new dance skills as well as performing in some of America’s most iconic locations.
Having been on the tour as a dancer in the past, dance studio owner Bianca Panetta said she wanted to give her students the opportunity to experience the tour themselves.
“I went on this same tour about three years ago and performed with the group, and since then I have really wanted to take my students on it,” Panetta said.
“The students that came on the tour had to have a certain amount of training and skill, and of course had to pay their own way, which, without the support from the community would not have been possible.”
From New York the students went to Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Anaheim and spent a few nights on a cruise ship.
“The girls were lucky enough to have the opportunity to perform at Universal Studios and Disneyland as well as perform a rehearsed routine on a cruise ship,” Panetta said.
“They also took a workshop with one of the performers where they were invited to ask questions regarding techniques and what dancing full time is like.
“I actually had tears in my eyes when they did their first performance at Universal Studios.
“A lot of hard work went into getting them there and seeing them perform my choreography was really special.”
