Alcoa calls for applications for 2024 Graduate Program, with a three-year development program being offered

University graduates in the South West and Peel regions are being asked to put their best foot forward for a major employer’s development program. Applications are currently open for Alcoa’s 2024 Graduate Program, which will see about 25 graduates work in various engineering fields or in procurement positions. The location of three-year program for successful applicants will depend on their chosen field, with the company’s WA operations stretching from the Wagerup refinery and Willowdale mine in the south to the Booragoon headquarters in the north. All graduate positions can transition into permanent employment. Mechanical engineer Shani Naidoo started her career through the program and said it provides diverse training, technical skills and career opportunities. “The greatest highlight of the graduate program is being part of an incredibly supportive and vibrant network of current and former graduates,” she said. “Training not only focuses on developing technical skills, but also on areas like project management, leadership and problem solving, which has provided an excellent basis for my career development.” Alcoa said the company has employed more than 2550 apprentices, graduates and trainees since their Australian operations started in 1963.
