Fancy a meat pie at 3am? MC’s Bakery and Patisserie has you covered.

The 24-hour bakery in Lake Clifton has been operating around the clock during the coronavirus pandemic in order to help the community and appeal to tourists.

Owners Mark Crawford and Kate Morton opened the highway bakery in November and have kept it open ever since.

“Lake Clifton is a small community and we just wanted to give locals somewhere to go if they needed essentials outside of the usual trading hours,” Mr Crawford said.

He has been baking for 40 years and said he was no stranger to long nights and early mornings.

“We are here baking the bread so we thought we may as well stay open,” he said.

The bakery is the only 24-hour eatery within the Waroona shire.

Mrs Morton said Lake Clifton was nostalgic for her.

“I have a lot of memories of growing up around Lake Clifton,” she said.
