Binningup product Clay Hall continues good WAFL form for West Coast but cops another report

Binningup product Clay Hall will face another nervous wait after being reported for the second time this season in West Coast’s 65-point WAFL defeat at the hands of Subiaco on Saturday. The Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault junior continued an excellent start to life at the Eagles with another strong performance in the loss to the Lions, recording 24 disposals and laying six tackles. But he was cited by the umpires for rough conduct on opponent Galen Savigni. A suspension would leave Hall on the sidelines for multiple weeks, with both the AFL and State league sides having a bye next weekend. The 19-year-old came into selection calculations for the senior team during the week due to the unavailability of midfielders Harley Reid (suspension) and Tim Kelly (ankle), but was overlooked in favour of 2022 mid-season draft No.1 selection Jai Culley. Hall, who was taken by the Eagles with pick 39 in last year’s national draft, has made a big impression since arriving at the club over the summer, overcoming a pre-season ankle injury to average 20.4 disposals and 3.4 tackles across his first eight WAFL appearances in the blue and gold. Fellow HBL product Brady Hough registered 15 disposals as West Coast’s senior outfit suffered a nine-point defeat to North Melbourne at Optus Stadium on Saturday.
