Competition leaders remain ahead in round three of Waroona Amateur Basketball Association senior games

It was a week of mixed senior results for the Waroona Amateur Basketball Association, with some big wins as well as close matches. Magic has continued its winning touch over the men’s competitions, with a healthy 79-47 win over the Suns. Theo Kearing and Anthony Hansen were the leading point scorers in the match, collecting 18 and 17 respectively. The second placed Kings just got up over the fourth placed Warriors with a final result of 47-46. The Kings’ Matt Vitale shot the most points during the round with a total of 20. The Bush Chooks fought out an even contest against the Bulls, with the final scores level at 39 points each. However, it was a Bulls player who scored the title of the match’s leading point scorer, with Bailey Gallop fetching a total of 14 points. In the women’s competition, the first placed Cruisers decimated sixth placed Blue Birds, keeping their opponents to single digits with a final score of 47-9. Cruisers players Emma Faulkner (13) and Jennifer Hayes (12) both scored more points individually than their competitors’ entire team. The Slammers had a more respectable loss against the undefeated Kings, going down 36-28. The Young Bloods more than doubled the score of the Group Therapy team in their 54-26 win. Sianna Dittmann was the highest point scorer of the match, notching a total of 16.
