Harvey community radio offers curious community a direct line to the shire

Harvey community radio is offering the community a line directly to the shire, with the local authority’s president on hand to answer community questions as part of a newly-revised radio show called Shire Chat - Your Questions Answered.

The community is invited to send in shire-related questions about local projects, community initiatives and council decisions to be answered live on air with shire president Michelle Campbell.

Every Thursday at 11am, Cr Campbell will join radio host David Marshall on Harvey Community Radio 96.5fm to answer some of the community’s burning questions.

While Shire Chat has been running at the station for several years, the revised program is set to give the community the opportunity to engage directly with the happenings of the shire.

A Shire of Harvey spokesperson said it would continue to provide an open and transparent platform where residents hear directly from Cr Campbell about important local issues, upcoming shire projects, events and programs and council decisions.

“The refreshed format makes it easier for the community to stay informed about what’s happening in the Shire of Harvey,” they said.

“The program welcomes a broad range of questions, including community projects and developments, local infrastructure and service, environmental initiatives, council policies and decisions and community events and programs.

“The shire is committed to addressing key concerns and providing valuable insights into how decisions are made and what they mean for residents.”

Residents can tune in through the station’s online streaming service and the program can be found each week on the Shire of Harvey’s website, the spokesperson said.

“Residents are encouraged to submit their questions via the shire’s official website, via email (at) marketing@harvey.wa.gov.au or by text 0460 001 435,” they said.

“Additionally, community members can send in queries through the shire’s social media channels.”
