Harvey councillors Zoom in for electronic meeting in isolation
The Harvey Shire Council briefing session took a different form last week as councillors turned on their webcams to appear online via Zoom.
The video call went smoothly and will be on again tonight for the shire council meeting.
Several councillors disappeared and reappeared throughout the session but there appeared to be no technical difficulties.
The council meetings cannot be held in the council chambers because of the COVID-19 social distancing laws.
Waroona Shire Council will also hold electronic meetings during the coming months.
The council resolved to switch to “Emeetings” at a Special Council Meeting earlier this month, invoking sections of the Local Government Administration Regulations Act in order to allow council meeting to go ahead via electronic means.
