Harvey Golf Club makes podium clean-sweep at the Harvey-Waroona Reporter’s Ladies Open Day

The Harvey-Waroona Reporter’s Harvey Golf Club Ladies Open Day saw a podium clean-sweep from the home side. Teams from Harvey finished first, second and third, with a pair from Boyup Brook Golf Club finishing fourth on the day. More than 100 players for 19 clubs across the South West were represented on the day in the Canadian Foursomes event. Harvey Golf Club ladies captain Judy Muller said the event continued to go from strength to strength. “It was a very successful day, the weather was beautiful and the Harvey ladies cleaned-up,” she said. “They all look forward to the Harvey open, this year we had three teams from Perth, which was great. “The ladies enjoy it every time, we are all very familiar with each other and each other’s courses, but they all love to come to Harvey,” she said. Lynda Ovenden continued her run of form after being crowned Harvey’s ladies club champion last week. Ovenden and her partner Marita Hayward recorded 42 Stableford points to finish in first place for the day and claim the major prize. Harvey’s Deb Hiscock and Sharon Burrow finished with 40 points to claim second, while Maggie O’Reilly and Kerry Blackburn from Harvey finished third with 39 points. Boyup Brook’s Rhonda Parker and Jenny Aird finished fourth on 38 points.
