Harvey Netball Associations celebrates best young players as part of Junior Grand Finals

There was a great turn out for the Harvey Netball Association junior netball grand finals and presentation evening on September 19. In the Primary School Division, Thunderbirds met Fever in the grand final. Thunderbirds proved too strong in the end, coming away with the win 23-13. Umpires voted Thunderbirds player McKenzie Bozanich as the Fairest & Best player of the final. It was a tight tussle between Jets and Vixens in the High School division, with Jets coming away with the win in the end 44-40. Fairest & Best for the final was Alyssa Baggetta from the Jets. Season Fairest & Best for the primary school division was awarded to Yumi Newton and runnerup was a tie between Indigo Cox-Whelan and McKenzie Bozanich. Season Fairest & Best for the high school division was Valentina Tirli and runnerup was Summer Sherlock. Following the final games, a number of awards were presented, including team awards and umpiring awards, and the hard working and dedicated committee were recognised by club president Sophie Cox. Ms Cox said it had been a successful season with more than 70 players across the two divisions. The club was proud to have taken teams to the South West Peel Championships, to have representative team play in the Leschenault Competition and to have initiated the green shirt program for the beginner umpires.
