Harvey residents can now roll-up at their local pharmacy and receive a dose of the new Moderna vaccine. Harvey Pharmacy is the only clinic in the area offering the Moderna jab, with residents able to book an appointment by phone or walk-in. The town now hosts all three available vaccinations with general practitioners at Harvey Medical Group and Wellington Medical Centre offering both Pfizer and AstraZeneca. About two-thirds of Harvey residents have received one dose of a COVID-19 jab, with almost 50 per cent of South West residents fully vaccinated. South West leads in regional COVID vaccination rates The Shire of Waroona still has a low uptake when compared to the rest of the State, with a full vaccination rate of 41.3 per cent, despite the town’s pharmacy providing both Moderna and AstraZeneca. More jab options available in Waroona The State Government’s decision to make COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for fly-in, fly-out and other resources sector workers from December may boost the region’s jab rate. About 46.2 per cent of Australians are fully vaccinated, behind France (66.3 per cent), the UK (66.9 per cent), and the United Arab Emirates at 84.2 per cent. Premier Mark McGowan aims to have 85 per cent of the WA’s population vaccinated before easing travel restrictions.
