As the countdown to the Harvey Harvest Festival draws near, Harvey shire president Michelle Campbell is no exception to those feeling the excitement.

With the festivities less than a week away, Cr Campbell said she was incredibly excited for the event, which was one of the highlights on the shire calendar as a wonderful celebrations of community, heritage and local producers.

“There’s a real buzz around town in the lead-up, and it’s fantastic to see so many volunteers, businesses and community groups coming together to make it happen,” she said.

Cr Campbell said there had been many memorable moments from across the years, from watching all enjoy the Grape Stomping Championships, to children’s first experiences of farm animals up close.

“One of my favourite things is seeing the entertaining cooking demonstrations by Vince Garreffa, advocate for Australian farmers, independent butchers and the food and wine industries,” she said.

Cr Campbell said this weekend she was most looking forward to seeing the community come together and welcome visitors.

“The festival is a fantastic opportunity to highlight our agricultural heritage and the incredible quality of produce grown right here in Harvey,” she said.

“I’m especially excited to see our local businesses and community groups shine — it’s their passion and commitment that make this event such a success.”

Encouraging everyone to attend and experience all the festivities have to offer, Cr Campbell sincerely thanked all the volunteers, sponsors and staff involved in the event.

“The festival is not just a celebration of harvest — it’s a celebration of community, and we’re proud to have been a major supporter of the event for several years,” she said.
