Students in need across the Harvey and Waroona regions have received a helping hand just in time for the start of the school year.

Pupils across the State returned to classrooms on Wednesday, with some receiving help to be better prepared for the term ahead.

Hundreds of backpacks filled with supplies including stationery, lunch boxes, water bottles and hats have been handed out across WA by Dandelions WA as part of its annual Back to School campaign.

It is the fourth year the organisation has held the drive, with some of this year’s recipients including Harvey Primary School, Yarloop Primary School, Brunswick Junction Primary School and Waroona District High School.

The backpacks were distributed by Murray-Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke early last week.

The State Government has provided funding for the program and helped Dandelions WA in reaching out to public schools.
