Harvey’s inaugural Rotary Recycling Regatta is set to make a splash next month with applications now open.

The Harvey Rotary Club’s Rotary Recycling Regatta will take to the Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool on November 10, with teams to race the length of the pool on rafts made entirely from recycled materials.

Teams of up to four are invited to try their watercrafts in a range of competitions, with categories from under 13s, teens, adults and businesses to community groups available.

There is also a prize for the most creative entry using only drink containers and tape.

The overall craft cannot be larger than 1m by 2m.

Club president Robyn Coleman said club members would fly the Rotary flag in the event.

She said the day would be full of fun community groups, friends, families and co-workers.

There will be food and drinks on offer and Harvey Community Radio will provide the day’s soundtrack.

Registration can be made at the Rotary Club’s website rotaryrecyclingregatta.com.au.
