Business owners and professionals have been making the most of a colourful new workshop series being run at the Harvey Community Resource Centre.

Designed and run by Paula Bradley, the Full Spectrum Health Workshop Series is aimed at providing local professionals with an opportunity to network and share their knowledge and skills, while focussing on the importance of health.

Mrs Bradley designed the talks to raise community awareness about accessing tools and resources that support people to maintain their own health and wellbeing.

Each workshop relates to a different colour, using red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.

Carmel Ietto was the guest speaker at the first workshop on October 29 and spoke about health and fitness.

Shire of Harvey community development officer Stella Johnson was the guest speaker for the second week, orange, where she discussed the seniors’ yoga she was teaching on behalf of the shire.

Mrs Bradley’s husband, Greg, educated the group about the benefits of orange essential oils.

Each week the workshop participants have stayed after the session for a networking supper from 7.30pm.

Centre manager Tracey-Ann Davis said the information workshops have proven more popular than anticipated, with more than 25 participants taking part most weeks.

“Everyone is welcome to join us for this free, fun, six week course sharing the many ways to support our health and wellbeing,” she said.

The next workshop is on tonight at 5.30pm, the final session being held on December 3. Contact 9729 1669 for details.
