Big names in the Harvey community and beyond came together earlier this month for a celebration of the town’s heart for sport, community and the arts.

Fundraising committee members, elected members and dignitaries celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre at an invite-only dinner on September 11.

Among the attendees were former Australian hockey coach Richard Aggiss and Sports Minister David Templeman, who missed the Sandover Medal to attend the night.

Events concluded with a special performance by the Philharmonic South West Orchestra.

The Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre officially opened to the public on September 11, 1993.
