Harvey Public Library welcomed the school holidays with a fun afternoon of Easter basket building as part of its What’s on Wednesday program.

The after-school program is designed to give students a creative outlet after a long day at school.

“We usually get quite a good turn out on Wednesdays,” program facilitator Isolee Hayden said.

“The kids love getting creative, even if they end up making something completely different to what I have planned, as long as they are having a fun time that’s all that matters.”

Last week the students were given bundles of yarn, pom poms and other decorative supplies and asked to make Easter baskets in preparation for the Easter Egg Hunt later that afternoon.

The library will host more Easter activities next week including an Easter egg decorating competition and an Easter arts and crafts day.
