The Waroona Leos held their changeover night last week at the Waroona Bowling Club where they welcomed in their fourth year of membership.

Youth Of the Year nominee Lincoln Hawke-Dufall and State Leo Of The Year Liam Hannah hosted the night.

With a guest list including installing officer Dave Molcher, Gosnells Lions Club president Brian Beech, Waroona Lions president Mike Whitney and services chairman Heinz Fuchs, the celebration was a big success.

District governor Frank Camarri also made a surprise appearance and helped with the ceremony by presenting and pinning badges on the officers.

Newly formed Baldivis Leos club sent their members and adviser down for the night.

For the first time in four years, the new board has a treasurer who is over the age of 18 and a co-signer in training, which means they can now access and run their own bank accounts.

Leo district chairman John Clare said he was excited to welcome in the new board.

“I personally have a really good feeling for this year,” Mr Clare said.

“It may be the best Waroona Leos year yet and I wish them luck.”

As per tradition, it was the Leo advisers’ privilege to decide and award the Leo Of The Year Award.

However, this year the advisers were split, and the award was shared by the incoming president Zarli Butcher and vice-president Remy Deleo.
