Peel Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Shire of Waroona announce Customer Experience Charter Project

Customer service in the Shire of Waroona will be boosted by a series of workshops. They are part of the Waroona Customer Experience Charter Project, an initiative of Peel Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The project arose after a letter was sent from PCCI general manager Andrew McKerrell to Waroona Shire community development manager Kelly Shipway. “Having received continuous reports of poor customer experiences across the Waroona business sector,” the letter said, “the Waroona Business Support Group has identified a clear need within the local business community for support and grassroots business development through a non-judgmental approach to providing positive customer experiences.” The Shire has given $1800 to support the eight workshops. Shire president Mike Walmsley said this was a way to ensure visitors and locals had positive customer service experiences. “Negative customer experiences often travel further than positive ones,” he said. “We want people to have a positive experience when the come to Waroona. “We want anyone who deals with customers to be friendly, ask them where they are going and mention some things to do around town. We want our business owners and employees acting as ambassadors for our shire.”
