The Shire of Harvey has locked and loaded a decision to address parking issues involving delivery vehicles on Uduc Road.

Councillors last week voted unanimously in favour of changing a no stopping zone outside the town’s post office — on Harvey’s main street — into a dedicated loading zone.

The decision comes after Shire documents outlined problems with delivery vehicles parking illegally or taking up several on-road parking bays at one time.

“Delivery vehicles have been observed either parking in the ‘no stopping zone’ on Uduc Road or straddling two or more 15-min parking bays in front of the post office when no vehicles are parked there,” documents stated.

The zone will be active from 7am-5pm from Monday to Friday and will not affect the availability of parking along Uduc Road.
