Show Defies Gravity
Ever wanted to know what growing older gracefully feels like? Now you can.
After their success at Perth Fringe Festival last year, the soprano duo DivaLicious are bringing their sell-out show Defying Gravity to the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre this weekend.
Comedic cougars Penny Shaw and Fiona Cooper Smyth will explore the dubious joys of growing older in a world which worships youthful beauty, smooth brows and skinny legs.
“We are really looking forward to bringing this show to Harvey,” Ms Shaw said.
“There will be lots of laughs and some beautiful, recognisable music with words you may not be expecting – you will never think of them the same again.
“It is an uplifting show that is both funny and relatable for any of us who are, or one day will be, older.”
Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre manager David Marshall is excited to welcome the talented entertainers to the region.
“Penny and Fiona have combined the best of the big Broadway hits alongside hilarious experiences and storytelling of ageing, and we are so fortunate to get such a high quality show,” Mr Marshall said.
