Show fun in the bag

Fairy floss, fireworks, rides and showbags are all highlights at agricultural shows around the country.

However, due to COVID-19 and social gathering restrictions, many shows in WA have been scrubbed off the calendar — including the Perth Royal Show and the Harvey, Waroona and Brunswick shows.

As proud sponsors of the Perth Royal Show, independent supermarkets have partnered with vendors to help get this year’s selection of showbags out into the community.

Harvey Supa IGA is stocking an array of showbags that appeal to both kids and adults.

There are many themed showbags to choose from, including Bluey, Friends, Pokemon, Barbie and Hatchimals, along with Kit Kat, Smarties and Milkybar lolly bags.

The popular Bertie Beetle showbag has also made a nostalgic reappearance.

Grocery manager Renee Bennett said it was great to be able to offer the showbags to the community after the cancellation of shows in the region.

People will still be able to experience a part of the show this year through IGA’s showbag bonanza, without the long queues in side show alleys.
