Art lovers in Harvey and surrounds are invited to view a range of works created by three of Harvey Art Society’s newest members at an exhibition at the Harvey Art Gallery.

For two weeks the gallery will open to the public showcasing the Unity collection, a carefully curated selection of work by new members Tanya Hutley, Leah Christie and Danni Winn.

Having only recently joined the society, Ms Hutley and Ms Christie are hoping the exhibition will help put the Harvey Art Gallery on the map.

“A lot of people aren’t actually aware Harvey has an art gallery, and we’ve got some great local talent that we think the community needs to see, and if we manage to sell some art then that’s a bonus,” Ms Christie said.

Ms Hutley said the new members have some big plans in the works.

“We’re trying to popularise the gallery a bit more and are hoping to bring some new and exciting things here,” Ms Hutley said.

We are so lucky to have access to the space and resources, and we want to use that to our advantage as much as possible.

“The art club has been going for almost 60 years, and we’re hoping this exhibition will show residents that there is new art work being produced, and that we are always looking for new members.”
