St Anne’s students win academic and music scholarships
There must be something in the water at St Anne’s Primary School in Harvey, with three of the Our Lady of Mercy scholarship recipients all hailing from the Year 6 class.
Lani Beech and Sienna Italiano were awarded with an academic scholarship, while Jack Capone received a music scholarship.
Our Lady of Mercy principal Rob Crothers attended the school to congratulate his future students and personally deliver the awards.
“A large number of high-quality applications were received, all of which were very impressive,” Mr Crothers said.
“As part of the application process, students were required to choose one of the Mercy values and indicate how they could integrate it into their daily lives.
“The maturity and depth of understanding of the students’ perspectives were inspiring.”
Year 6 teacher Chelsea Cox said she was proud of her students.
“To have three winners from one class is outstanding,” Mrs Cox said.
“It was great to see them recognised.”
Brooklyn-Lea Langridge from St Michael’s Catholic Primary School in Brunswick received a music scholarship and Mackenzie Kenny from Harvey Primary School won an academic scholarship.
The Year 7 orientation day will be held on November 26 in Australind.
