State Government’s RED Grant could give South West businesses and organisations up to $150,000

South West businesses and organisations are seeing RED as they look to secure up to $150,000 from the State Government. The South West Development Commission is encouraging businesses and organisations to apply for funding towards local projects through the Regional Economic Development grants. The commission said up to $150,000 was available for individual projects that “increase or sustain jobs, expand or diversify industry, develop skills or capability, increase business productivity and attract new investment to the region”. SWDC chief executive Mellisa Teede invited businesses and organisations interested in applying for funding to contact the locally-based team. “We are looking for projects that support jobs and economic activity in the South West region,” Ms Teede said. “This has been a challenging time for industry and business, but funding programs like RED build confidence and growth.” Applications are now open and close at 3pm on Thursday, October 21. Priority will be given to investing in proposals that support innovation or value-adding in mining, tourism and events, manufacturing/advanced manufacturing, agriculture, energy, maximising international and/or interstate markets or exports and Aboriginal small business development.
