Harvey Bulls’ women’s side closed out their dominant regular season with a 27-point victory over Dunsborough at Harvey Oval on Sunday. The Bulls were already assured of a top-of-the-table finish but won their 15th game from 16 outings this year with a 4.6 (30) to 0.3 (3) victory over the fifth-placed Sharks. Another strong performance saw one goal kicked in each quarter, with Caitlin Shales leading the way with two majors and Tajah Griffiths and Megan Minton chipping in one apiece. Finishing in first spot grants the Bulls a bye in the first round of the finals, meaning they will not be in action when the rest of the competition converges on Kelly Park on Friday night. The day was not as positive for the men’s league side, who suffered their seventh defeat in their past eight games in a 42-point defeat at the hands of the Sharks. In their final home game of the season, the Bulls produced a competitive effort in the first three quarters to trail by only 10 points at the final break but were ultimately on the wrong end of a 13.12 (90) to 7.6 (48) result. Riley Vidovich kicked two goals to continue an impressive run of form since joining the club mid-season, while Evan Hill, Hayze Griffiths and Ryder Turner were also listed among the best players. The Bulls remain in ninth spot on the ladder, where they are now guaranteed to finish after other results from the weekend.
