Shire of Harvey councillors have unanimously backed a master plan outlining their key priorities in the coming years. The four-year corporate business plan includes the development of the Harvey and Australind community precincts, Harvey Trails, Adventure Precinct and the expansion of the Leschenault Leisure Centre indoor courts. It also includes the second stage of the Yarloop Workshops redevelopment, improvements to Binningup Beach and upgrades to the Harvey Senior Citizens Centre. Areas such as crime prevention, youth services, local roads and pet management were highlighted as priorities after a community consultation period. A council report said the plan focused on the redevelopment of essential infrastructure such as the Harvey Senior Citizens Centre. “The plan also responds to existing priorities such as economic development through the creation of tourism and business opportunities,” it said. Shire officers said the corporate overview could be updated regularly.
