Budding young actors performed several engaging and eye-opening spectacles at the Harvey Dam amphitheatre last week.

Twelve actors aged between 11 and 20 performed in an interactive walking tour around the picturesque location as part of the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre’s Walk With Me project. Audience mem-bers were given a headset and were taken on a futuristic and thought-provoking journey.

The themes derived from the concerns of young people, including the effect of climate change on the future.

The Riptide Youth Per-formance Company worked on the project and also created a short film, which was screened at the event. Artistic director Katt Osborne said it was important for young people to be given the oppor-tunity to express their concerns.

“It’s coming from young people in their communities and they are expressing their concerns and ideas in order to connect with each other,” Ms Osborne said.
