Wallam Watch: Harvey’s Donnell Wallam pays a special visit to where her netball career began

Fresh off a training camp and a stint as a reserve athlete for the Diamonds, Harvey’s Donnell Wallam made a homecoming visit to where her netball career began. Harvey Netball Association was treated to a special visit from star netballer Wallam on August 15, fresh from her stint as a reserve at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The 28-year-old dropped in to see junior games in action after returning from a training camp in Manchester with the Australian Diamonds with players, parents and spectators having the chance to meet Wallam and ask her questions about her career. Wallam said returning home to her junior netball club was a real highlight of her career. “It has been great to come back to where I played as a teenager and to see the girls and boys out there having fun,” she said. Harvey Netball Association committee member Coralee Italiano said the association was thrilled by the visit. “It certainly created a great buzz in the atmosphere and the boys and girls were so excited to meet her,” she said. Wallam was also presented with her very own Harvey Netball Association hoodie as a token of their appreciation.
