Waroona residents are being invited to learn more about online banking ahead of the closure of the town’s only bank branch.

The Waroona Community Resource Centre will hold a free workshop on Thursday as part of Get Online Week.

Attendees will be able to learn about how to download and use their bank’s online banking systems, get tips on using secure passwords and understand how to be safe while using online banking.

The workshop will cover online banking using both a phone and computer.

It will run from 1.30pm to 3pm at the centre’s Henning Street premises.

Attendees are required to RSVP to the Waroona CRC on 9733 3011 or programs@waroonacrc.com.au.

The session is being held just weeks before the National Australia Bank is set to close its Waroona branch on November 17, leaving the town without a bank.

Limited face-to-face banking services will still be available through Australia Post.
