Waroona Visitor Centre jumping for joy after receiving a giant hay bale kangaroo for the South Western Highway

The Waroona Visitor Centre is jumping for joy after receiving a massive hay bale kangaroo which is drawing the eye of tourists and locals along the South Western Highway. The kangaroo is about 5m tall and is the brainchild of Waroona Shire president Mike Walmsley. The hay bale roo follows a giant teddy bear Mr Walmsley made last December to spread cheer in what he described as a really tough year. The bear was placed at the Southern end of town last year and the kangaroo has been put next to the Waroona Visitor Centre. Centre manager Tracy Goldsworthy said the animals were a great attraction for locals and visitors to the town. “There are lots of people coming and having a look at the new kangaroo and they love the park there,” she said.
