The Wellington junior cricket team won two of their three matches at the Bunbury Cricket Carnival last month. Teams from Bunbury, Peel, Albany and Busselton took part in the event. Four Harvey-Benger players made the all-star squad and were selected to represent the region. Coach Johnny Crognale said it was a great learning curve for the young players who were playing above their age bracket. Wellington overpowered Albany by one run in the first game and won against Bunbury in the second game. “Beating Bunbury is no mean feat,” Crognale said. Despite early success, Wellington lost to Peel by 60 runs in the final game. Harvey’s Jessie-J Crognale took a hat-trick and Brady Oxford made 44 runs.
