Woolworths Treendale is now home to an Automated External Defibrillator to help the community in the event of a cardiac emergency.

The national supermarket chain started installing the devices in early May, with stores in rural and regional communities among the first to receive them.

Residents should have no issues accessing or using the device which comes with clear step-by-step voice instructions, guiding users through the process.

Woolworths Treendale store manager Lina Sheasby said the supermarket was thankful to have a life-saving device at the store.

“We are pleased to have a defibrillator installed in our store which everyone can have access to,” Ms Sheasby said.

“You never know when a sudden cardiac arrest might strike and in the unfortunate event that it does, having the local community able to access this treatment could help to save lives.

“The best medical advice tells us that access to an AED early on can greatly increase the chance of survival.”

Treendale, Eaton Fair, Collie and Dalyellup are a few of the many Woolworths stores around the South West to now have defibrillators available.
