The Yarloop Charity Car Cruise is back in the hope of generating more money to help the Yarloop community get back on its feet five years after the devastating bushfires. The event will be held at the Drakesbrook Hotel in Waroona on Sunday and people are encouraged to bring their cars and bikes to put on display. The Yarloop Fire Brigade will this year be the recipient of all money raised. Organisers Sue Manuel and Steve Eatwell said it was an annual tradition they hoped would continue each year. “We started holding the car cruise in 2018 to raise funds for the town after the fire,” Mrs Manuel said. “We have since raised funds for the Yarloop Primary School, Country Women’s Association and Yarloop Volunteer Bushfire Brigade.” Mrs Manuel said they wanted to do their bit to give back to the community. The event will commence at 11am and everyone is welcome. There will be pub meals available as well as an ice-cream truck on the day.
