Geraldton BMX competitor Corey Taylor is among the fastest riders around — but local speed demons can still get some coaching from him these holidays.

Taylor, who is now an elite rider after turning 18, was the highest ranked junior elite rider last year before the Supercross World Cup was cancelled.

He starts afresh in the new category and is having surgery on a knee complaint, but is likely to be back better than ever and in plenty of time to ride after dreams of Olympic glory.

In the meantime, Taylor will be sharing plenty of his knowledge with local riders as well as further south in the Perth metro area, his mum, Elaine, said.

“With BMX when they (riders) peak it’s normally not until they’re around 26 or 27,” she said.
