Firefighters are continuing to monitor bushfires at Quobba Station in the Gascoyne and near Port Gregory in the Mid West this morning.

Crews were patrolling a fire at Quobba Station in Macleod which had burnt out about 20,000 hectares.

The fire, listed as contained but not controlled, was first reported on Saturday night.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services said it posed no threat to lives or homes, but advised people monitor official information in case the situation changed.

The cause was not known.

Meanwhile, crews are blacking out at the scene of a small bushfire at Yallabatharra, in Northampton Shire, this morning.

The department said the fire, reported yesterday afternoon, was believed to have been sparked by “unattended cooking”.
