Community group Ignite Wicky will light up the town for its third biannual Wickepin Festival, nurturing community connection and showcasing the best the Wheatbelt has to offer.

On Saturday the Wickepin Oval will be transformed with market stalls, live entertainment, displays and demonstrations featuring art, photography and farming with festival gates opening from 11am.

A mix of family-friendly activities like a hula workshop, bouncy castles, obstacle course, toy meltdown ride and an arts workshop will be available, plus games and competitions like the tractor pull and sheaf toss.

Highly anticipated displays include my favourite wheels and farm contraptions displays, blade shearing, arts and stargazing.

In collaboration with Ignite Wicky, the Wickepin Community Resource Centre’s project Wise Up for Wildlife: Wickepin Against Litter will also take centre stage, presenting environmental research from local students.

Critters Up Close and Birds of Prey WA will put on an informative exhibition for an up-close experience with the animals and learn how litter negatively impacts their habitat and risks their lives.

Local artist Jade Bray will take the stage from 2-5pm before the main act The Michael Ward Trio, who were 2025 WA music awards nominees.

Camping is available for self-contained vehicles which can be booked through the Shire of Wickepin.
